MAJOR INSPECTIONS

As per the Australian Standards 2550.10, all Elevated Work Platforms are required to undergo an EWP major inspection periodically. This is to maintain the safe use of Elevated Work Platforms within the industry, ensuring that all machines avoid any serious failures and accidents while in operation.

Major Inspections are essential to all of the following:

Travel Towers
Boom Lifts
Cherry Pickers
Scissor Lifts
Vertical Lifts
Telehandlers
Cranes

Elevated Work Platforms are to undergo Major inspections after the first 10 years from date of first commission and then every 5 years ongoing.

The history of annual inspections throughout the machines life will help determine when a major inspection is required, indicated when major mechanical and structural repairs are visible and regularly repaired.

Completing a ten yearly service is an extensive process completed by our specialist mechanics. Major inspections include stripping the machine of all its components for measurement and replacement as required as well as checking for structural cracks, corrosion and damages. These are completed in accordance with engineering guidelines. We then refurbish and refinish all components, re-assemble and recommission the machine and finally complete thorough pre-delivery inspection and associated testing. All testing done throughout this process is completed by state of the art technology to ensure accurate results and that the machine meets industry standards.
